Cholestasis

My first mama has this (find a summary here). It’s been interesting to learn about it over the past couple months, as she had it with her first pregnancy, so she knows what to expect. This time, she opted to take Milk Thistle and Apple Cider Vinegar for it and see if that helped. Her itching went away and her ‘numbers’ looked great for a couple months!

Unfortunately, Sunday (36/4), her itching returned.

Right now, “what to do” has come to crunch time.

Her baby is transverse (was breech until Friday). She’d been trying everything we could think of to get him to turn – chiropractics, swimming, pelvic tilts, inversion, elephant walking, flashlights, cold packs, heat packs, talking, visulization, even a manual version on Friday morning (that afternoon he went on his own to transverse). I read on Spinning Babies that “An interesting point is that a breech baby may move to the transverse lie for a couple days before finishing the flip to head down. If your transverse baby was just recently breech wait a couple days before worrying, and keep up the techniques you are using to help baby into a head down position.”

That’s what we’re hoping for!

Unfortunately, they want to induce or schedule a c-section for 37 weeks — which is tomorrow.

Not sure what else we can try…
